Mobile Air Defense On-The-Cheap
Prior to the introduction of the PGZ95 self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery (SPAAA), this Type 63 APC ad hoc modification was the only opinion for PLA's mobile armor columns. Even today, this type of "mobile air defense on-the-cheap" can still be found on some low readiness units.

This type of gun is useful against helicopters and low flying aircraft like UAVs.
But only under good weather.
The future usefulness of these class of weapons depends upon whether or not they can be integrated into a modern air-defense system.
If they remain hand-controlled and operated they for the most part they are relatively useless.
If on the other hand they can be controlled by directors controlled by modern sensors and computer systems and fire a broader range of more sophisticated ammunition then they can still be quite useful.
why bother to equip such outdated system with sophisticated gears? Money would have been better spent on new PZG95s.
the legendary ZSU-23mm-4 AAA(radar guided version) shot down many U.S. aircrafts during the Vietnam War.
Of the 2,200 aircraft shot down in combat, most of them were victims of the ZSU-23mm-4 AAA.

I think this would still be effective in modern combat. Albeit, as a fire support weapon.
