New PLAN unit of the day: Naval Specialized Aircraft Regiment, 3rd Naval Aviation Air Division, PLA Navy Air Force

It has been long rumored (since April 2018) that a new PLANAF specialized aircraft regiment has been commissioned to home a new fleet of "High New" series of specialized aircraft down south  similar to the 4th Air Regiment, 2nd Division up north.   Well, this PLA Daily pretty much confirms the existing of this new air regiment.

PLANAF 2nd "Specialized" Division getting three more Y-8GX5 AEW&C birds

Judging from the latest PR release of the PLAN-AF 2nd 'specialized" division, its fourth regiment is getting at lease three new Y-8GX5  (KJ-200) AEW&C aircraft

PLANAF 2nd "Specialized" Division

PLANAF 2nd "Specialized" Division, North Sea Fleet, PLA Navy is headquartered in Dialing with primary focus on ASW, ELINT and other EW related missions. It was commissioned in April 1952 in Ningbo’s Zhuang Airport from Army’s 138th Division, 44th Army, 4th Field Army with Lai Jinhua as its first commander. Its three regiments are: 4th, 5th and the 6th.
