The school begins for the preparatory class of the first batch of international army officer candidates in the University of Science and Technology (UST) of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in the new semester. Twelve army officer candidates from ten countries, including Laos, Mongolia and Turkmenistan, will complete their one-year preparatory courses and four-year undergraduate courses at the university, which marks the Chinese PLA is integrating itself into the world with a much more open attitude.
As an important window for the Chinese PLA’s opening to the outside world, The UST of the PLA has developed a brand-new teaching system for international students, with modern contents, systematic courses and international standards as its main features, and core curricula and optional courses as its basic framework.
