The problem with these Chinese "sniper rifles" is that the PLA has no concept of a real sniper team in the modern sense. The previous models were barely good enough for designated marksmen. This particular one was developed by the manufacturer for potential adoption in the PAP, which has the need but not the authority to acquire real sniper rifles.
It is news to me that the PAP finally gets the PLA to order production of these new rifles. Can you list the source?
