AIFASHIR, Sudan, July 23 (ChinaMil) -- The construction of the campsite of China's first peacekeeping helicopter detachment to Sudan was completed in Al Fashir, Sudan on the morning of July 20, local time.

The project has passed the acceptance inspection by the engineering department of the African Union/UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) and is now ready to accommodate the Chinese peacekeepers.

The 24-member advance team of the helicopter detachment arrived in Khartoum, capital of Sudan, on June 12. In addition, the detachment's four helicopters also arrived at the same time.

The team members are busy with test flight of the four helicopters and will soon fly to the mission area in Al Fashir after relevant procedures are completed.
