139th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, 47th Group Army, Chengdu Military Region returns home after spending more than four months in Lanzhou as part of the "Mission Action 2010B" multi-region, joint air-land military exercise (here).  This marks the longest peacetime "out of region" deployment by a major PLA formation. One can't talk about "long-range deployment" if one does not leave "home".
