(Source: PLA Daily) 2010-03-16
One day in early March, with the release of the order to take off, several new-type helicopters took off in succession from the airport of the second training regiment of the Second Flight Academy of the Air Force of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). This regiment is the first organic helicopter training regiment of the PLA Air Force.
Since taking over the modification task last year, the regiment has formulated the Outline of Military Training and Evaluation for Helicopter Flight Instructors and Cadets, the Flight Skill Textbook and the Flight Personnel Manual in succession, successfully accomplished the first-flight-day training and formed teaching capability. It’s learned that the regiment will shoulder the training, teaching and scientific research tasks for helicopter pilots, air rescue personnel and others of the PLA Air Force. It will also offer talent and technological support to the PLA Air Force on the battlefield in the future and in implementing diversified military tasks.
