Judging by the belt and box, the 12.7X108mm ammunition here is intended to feed a heavy machine gun from the QJC family rather than the M99 anti-materiel sniper.   Both are chambered for the 12.7x108mm cartridge.

Tungsten as the projectile's core allows for substantial penetration because it does not break apart during penetration, delivering a large residual energy to the target.

United Wa State Army's M99 12.7mm Sniper Rifle

After seeing what happened to their neighbors, the United Wa State Army is now busy arming themselves, fully expecting that they will be the next target of the Tatmadaw.
